Los Angeles Auto Show 2007
return to brian1.net
The 2007 show marks the LA Auto Show's new "home" date, designed to let it be more competitive with the Detriot show.
I'm not entirely sure they succeeded. The biggest things there were the Nissan GT-R and the Honda FCX. The buttload of new hybrids there blended together, for the most part. The Chevy Volt wasn't exactly new, but it too got quite a bit of floor space. The Corvette C6RS was fun to look at, as was the Shelby GT500KR. Ditto for the new Evo X and Impreza WRX STI... but nothing was really that exciting. Detroit will probably still be more interesting.
All in all... not bad. It must be more than just boredom in the market, because there are quite a few new and exciting cars coming out. The economy must be playing a role, plus the concept cars that were in abundance two or three years ago just aren't as common anymore-- or they're a lot closer to production rather than closer to the exotic side.
